The Monkey

Chinese New Year/Tet 2016 will be a year of the Monkey. People born in a year of the monkey (1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004, and 2016) are witty, intelligent and have a magnetic personality. Monkey people are also characterized as curious, innovative and mischievous. In addition, their gentleness and honesty bring them an everlasting love life. Although they were born with enviable skills, they still have several shortcomings, such as an impetuous temper and a tendency to look down upon others.

The Monkey is very intelligent, hyperactive and strong-minded. It represents the unfettered mind freed from inhibitions and guilt. Relieved from the heavy burdens of a touchy conscience, the Monkey type will not hesitate to test their theories, experiment and think the unthinkable. In their domain, everything is possible. What is difficult, they could do right away; what is impossible may take a little longer. These qualities make them such fast learners and enable them to excel in a wide range of careers from business to science and arts.
Monkey people are always seeking novelty. Therefore, they may find it difficult settling down in relationship. Easily bored, they often have many partners. Yet, those who can conquer the heart of “monkey” people are fortunate since “monkey” people tend to be very open and attentive in communication.

All the animals have a shadow side, and the Monkey is no exception. The problem solving tendencies can turn the Monkey to being a tricky tactician, opportunistic and not all that trustworthy. The youthfulness hides an unscrupulous adolescent, and the independence can turn to unfaithfulness. Ominously, the year of the Monkey believed to be one of the most unlucky years in the Chinese calendar.
Health is often not a worry to “monkey” people since they prefer an outdoor and active lifestyle. Still, “monkey” people should pay more attention to ensure their safety when they are outdoors.

Strengths: sociable, innovative, enthusiastic, self-assured

Weaknesses: suspicious, cunning, selfish, arrogant, jealous
