Celebrate Thai and Cambodian New Year with Asians & Friends. Songkran, also known as Thai New Year or the Thailand water festival is celebrated from April 13-15. It traditionally was a time for the Thai people to splash water on their family members and elders as a way of seeking good fortune. It is also a time to pay homage to the images of Buddha. Today, in Thailand, it is a raucous festival involving three days of fun-filled water fights and revelries. Although we won’t soaking you with water, we hope to fill you with good Thai food and warm conversation.
